DAILY NOTES - February 4, 2008

Sunday’s Round(s) of the Day

It would be easy enough just to select Tiger Woods’ winning 65 in Dubai but at this stage, how much news is there in that?  Instead, the honors will be shared by Karrie Webb and Ji-Yai Shin, whose final-round six-under-par 67s were recorded over one of the world’s great courses (Kingston Heath), represented the low rounds of the week, and set the pair well out in front of their Sunday competition.  Both players made seven birdies and a single bogey, though perhaps the edge should go to Webb as her eighth birdie – which came on the second hole of sudden dearth – ultimately decided the championship.
